Happy Accidents + heart wisdom

Sometimes things don’t go the way we plan.

That’s pretty obvious, right? Maybe we can consider this a fact of life?

And when things don’t go the way we plan, it can be really easy to get caught in a spiral of negative thinking, self-shaming, disconnection, and distrust.

YOU DESERVE BETTER!

When we trust in our heart’s wisdom, even when it makes no logical sense, we completely shift our perspective and enter a flow state of manifestation.

Think of the adage: there are no accidents in life. Our hearts’ wisdom tells us to trust in Divine Timing, to trust that if you allow things to unfold naturally there is a more beautiful possibility for you.

Scary, or liberating?

A couple of weeks ago, my family that lives in Colorado let us know that they would be in Vermont for Thanksgiving. I promise you that they gave us the correct dates for their trip. I know this is true because I have the text to prove it, and I recall a conversation I had with my husband about how our schedules would not allow us to see them.

Time goes by and in an inspired moment of action both my husband and I forget this conversation, forget to check the dates, and book a non-refundable hotel room in Vermont on Thanksgiving weekend to spend time with family…that will not be there.

Not going to lie, when I realized what we’d done I wasn’t sure what to feel. I observed this war happen within myself…my head was telling me that I made a mistake, I was careless, and this old pattern of negative thoughts and emotions came swirling to the surface. This outdated pattern of thinking and feeling was battling with my heart.

My daily intention and practice to bring my heart into coherence, to connect to and live in the high-frequency emotions and qualities of the heart; like unconditional love, compassion, gratitude, joy, peace, trust, etc…Living in heart coherence showed me that this pattern of thinking and acting wasn’t authentic to who I am now. It was like I was still running an outdated operating system that couldn’t handle my new downloads…and it was time for an update.

My updated software showed me that there was another possibility; to forgive myself, because my subconscious has been wanting this trip for my family, and to trust that this is exactly what we wanted and needed. My heart told me to enjoy myself. And that’s exactly what we are doing, with no plans or obligations. We even managed to have a lovely brunch with our Colorado family too!

So, the next time things don’t go as planned, check in with your heart. It’ll show you the perspective update you need and allow you to enjoy life a bit more.
